Audi Recall for 1998 to 2000

This is the 2nd recall for the light switch. It seems that the first time around, the switch may have been installed incorrectly.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is recalling four types of the Audi A6 from the 1998 to the 2000 model years because a previous recall to fix the head light switch may have been improperly performed.

NHTSA is concerned that the improper installation could lead to an electrical short and fire under the dashboard on the driver's side of the car.

On some Audi A6, A6 Avant, S6 and S6 Avant cars, while attempting the remedial repair for recall 0413000 a plastic cover may not have been securely installed by the Audi technician.
